The role requires expertise in finance, auditing, strategic development and implementation, as well as knowledge of the airport&#8217;s operations. A total of 22 candidates have submitted their applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition, announced on May 23, will be conducted in three rounds. During the first round, the nominations committee will evaluate the submitted documents to ensure the candidates meet the mandatory requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the second round, candidates will undergo interviews where they will present their strategic vision for addressing the future challenges of VAS &#8220;Starptautisk\u0101 lidosta &#8220;R\u012bga&#8221;&#8221;. This includes highlighting key priorities and offering proposals for their implementation. In the third round, the committee will assess the management competencies of the candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the conclusion of the competition, one or two candidates who receive the highest evaluations will be recommended to the Ministry of Transport in a prioritized order for the final decision and appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nominations committee is chaired by Dzintra Gas\u016bne, head of the State Chancellery\u2019s Cross-Sectoral Coordination Department\u2019s Capital Company Management Division. The committee includes Inguna Strautmane, Director of the State Capital Shares Management Department at the Ministry of Transport; Art\u016brs Kokars, Director of the Aviation Department at the Ministry of Transport; J\u0101nis Gredzens, Coordinator of Work Environment Issues at the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Institute; Zigm\u0101rs Vestf\u0101ls, Board Member of the Latvian Aviation Association; Gita O\u0161k\u0101ja, Deputy Chair of the Latvian Free Trade Union Confederation; and Kaspars Gork\u0161s, General Director of the Employers&#8217; Confederation of Latvia. The candidate evaluation and selection process is supported by the personnel recruitment service provider SIA \u201cFontes Executive Search\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Chancellery, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, oversees the nomination process.
